About The Role We are seeking a skilled Backend Web Developer with expertise in PHP to join our dynamic DoD team. This role involves supporting highly visible projects that leverage cutting-edge technologies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new web applications, enhancing existing functionalities, and ensuring the seamless operation of internal and external-facing systems. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects that have a meaningful impact on national defense initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with project managers, clients, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, estimate workloads, and deliver solutions on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in web or software development

• Proficiency in PHP 7+ with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance

• Strong knowledge of MySQL databases

• Experience with HTML and CSS for front-end integration

• Solid understanding of JavaScript for client-side scripting

• Familiarity with Git version control system

• Experience working in Linux/Apache server environments

• Knowledge of PHP MVC frameworks such as CakePHP (preferred)

• Experience working with Web APIs and Unix/Linux command line tools

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement new website applications and features to meet evolving client needs

• Enhance and extend the functionality of existing websites and internal applications

• Utilize PHP, JavaScript, APIs, and SQL databases to create robust, scalable solutions

• Conduct thorough testing of code, features, and business rules to ensure quality and reliability

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve website, application, and user support issues promptly

• Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and team members to gather requirements and deliver solutions on time

• Design innovative web-based systems based on customer specifications and business objectives

• Maintain documentation and adhere to coding standards and best practices
