Principal AI Engineer - MLOps & Deployment

Our client, a cutting-edge AI startup focused on revolutionary intelligent solutions, is seeking a highly experienced Principal AI Engineer specializing in MLOps and deployment to join our fully remote engineering team. This is a pivotal role where you will architect, build, and maintain the robust infrastructure required to deploy, monitor, and manage our state-of-the-art machine learning models at scale. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between research and production, ensuring our AI solutions are reliable, efficient, and performant in real-world environments. Responsibilities include designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for machine learning models, developing automated testing and validation frameworks, and establishing best practices for model monitoring and performance tracking. You will work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform). Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and data engineering principles is crucial. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering and extensive experience with MLOps tools and workflows. You should be proficient in Python and possess deep knowledge of machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). This role requires excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to lead technical initiatives and mentor other engineers. A Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in AI/ML engineering, is preferred. This position is based in our primary innovation hub in Sacramento, California, US , and operates entirely remotely, allowing you to work from any location within the United States.
