This role focuses on transforming legacy SAS-based workflows into scalable, open-source solutions using Python (including PySpark) and modern data architecture patterns.

• Refactor and re-architect applications into serverless and cloud-native architectures

• Translate procedural logic, stored procedures, and functions into optimized PostgreSQL (PL/pgSQL)

• Develop, maintain, and support existing SAS (Base SAS) workflows

• Work within a Linux-based environment for development and deployment

• Collaborate with stakeholders to interpret requirements and translate them into technical solutions

• Write, test, and deploy production-ready code; participate in code reviews

• Use Git for version control and contribute to team development standards

• Support backend workflows, job processing, and system performance tuning

Requirements

• 4+ years Python development, including data processing or backend systems

• 2+ years SAS experience (Base SAS preferred) supporting or maintaining production workflows

• 4+ years experience with Oracle PL/SQL and/or PostgreSQL (PL/pgSQL)

• 4+ years working in Linux environments

• Experience modernizing legacy systems into open-source or cloud-based architectures

• Experience with serverless or containerized environments (AWS Lambda, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

• 2+ years AWS experience (Lambda, SQS, SNS, IAM or similar services)

• Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing database performance

• Ability to translate legacy logic into scalable, maintainable solutions

• Strong communication skills in a remote environment

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (federal contract requirement)
