Company Overview: Mopheth is a company dedicated to meeting needs. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Assistant to join our procurement team. This role is ideal for individuals with a minimum of 1 year of purchasing experience and an OND degree in a related field.
Job Functions/Responsibilities
Vendor Communication: Liaise with suppliers and vendors to obtain quotes, negotiate terms, and confirm order details.
Order Processing: Independently process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, analyze demand patterns, and collaborate with the procurement team to initiate replenishment orders.
Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of purchase orders, invoices, and related documents, ensuring proper filing and organization.
Quality Control: Inspect received goods to verify quality and specifications, promptly reporting discrepancies or issues to the procurement team.
Cost Tracking: Assist in tracking and analyzing procurement expenses, proactively identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Data Management: Enter procurement data accurately into the company's procurement software or spreadsheets, ensuring data integrity.
Supplier Research: Conduct research on potential suppliers, products, and market trends to support informed purchasing decisions.
Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the procurement team, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and other tasks as required.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum OND (Ordinary National Diploma) in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
At least 1 year of relevant experience in purchasing or procurement.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
Team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Familiarity with procurement principles and practices is preferred.
