The Mechanical Maintenance Officer is responsible for the installation and performance of maintenance activities on a wide variety of mechanical machinery and equipment, including generators, compressors, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, machine tools, conveyors and other mechanical systems.

Job Description

Performance of preventive and corrective maintenance services on diesel engine generators (between 100KVA to 1000KVA range)
Troubleshooting and repair of reciprocating engine compressors and screw compressors in the 7.5h.p, 10h.p, 50h.p etc range.
Performance of tasks which include replacing worn compressors, lubricating gears, motors, pumps and mechanical moving forks, changing dull tools, calibrating instruments, replacing filters, gears, valves, tubes and cables, etc.
Performance of possible inspections on plant, machinery and equipment.
Documentation of maintenance activities.
Performance of other duties as may be assigned by the maintenance manager.

Minimum Qualifications

BSC/HND in mechanical engineering from a reputable tertiary institution.
Knowledge of CAT diesel generators is an added advantage.
Knowledge of Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machines and equipment is highly desired.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical faults using test probes, multi mentors etc.
Computer literate.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Minimum of 4 – 5 years experience.
